I don't like the print quality from the silhouette program, so I use my own registration marks in photoshop (which also lets you use ICC profiles) and print from there, and then I create my cutting paths in illustrator, import those as SVGs into the silhouette software and then cut. I print and cut my own artwork with a silhouette cameo 2 and I've been using the Designer edition of the silhouette software for years.
